MISSIONARY LICENSURE

 

Criteria for Missionary Licensure in the Church of God in Christ TN Eastern Second Jurisdiction.


Aspiring Missionary expectations:

  • Aspiring Missionaries are women that serve under the leadership of their local church and are recommended to the Jurisdictional Supervisor by their local church Pastor & Church Mother.
  • Application for licensure is obtained from the Jurisdictional Women’s Department Dean. Once the Certificate of Recommendation for In-House Missionary form is completed by Pastor & Church Mother, the completed form and $50 COGIC licensure fee is turned in to the Dean.
  • There can be no current or pending civil or criminal cases.  Missionaries must complete a Background Check and Sexual Misconduct Training via the COGIC ARC system.
  • Missionaries should be Tithe payers and in full support of the local Pastor’s vision.
  • Missionaries must be in good standing and involved at both the District and Jurisdictional Level.

 

 Aspiring Missionary Licensure Process

  • Once the Certificate of Recommendation for In-House Missionary is completed and turned in to the Dean, the Supervisor approves the Aspiring Missionary to begin the examination process and the Study Guide is provided to the Aspiring Missionary.
  • Literature to be purchased. *cost not included in licensure fee
    • Official Handbook For International Department of Women COGIC
    • The Christian Woman’s Guide for Church Protocol & Saintly Decorum
  • The study process begins at the Jurisdiction Women’s Conference and upon successful completion of the 1 year process and examination, the Aspiring Missionary is licensed at the next Jurisdiction Women’s Conference.
  • Once notified of successfully passing your exam the next step is to create an account in the COGIC Assessment, Records, Credentials (ARC) Portal.
  • Complete Sexual Misconduct Training through ARC. *cost not included in licensure fee
  • Undergo a Background Check through ARC. *cost not included in licensure fee
  • These 2 processes must be completed 1 month prior to the Jurisdiction Women’s Conference.  Once both are complete, notify the Dean & Supervisor of Women for submission of your name to the Jurisdictional Secretary & National Church for your credentials.
